Andhra Pradesh State Load Despatch Centre (APSLDC) has been established by Government of Andhra Pradesh under section 31(1) of the Electricity Act, 2003 and as per item 4 under the heading “C.Power” in the Twelfth Schedule to the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act, 2014 vide Andhra Pradesh Gazette dated 14.07.2014.
- Be responsible for optimum scheduling and despatch of electricity within Andhra Pradesh in accordance with the contracts entered with the licensees or the generating companies operating in that State.
- Monitor grid operations.
- Keep accounts of the quantity of electricity transmitted through the State grid.
- Exercise supervision and control over the intra-state transmission system
- Responsible for carrying out real time operations for grid control and despatch of electricity within Andhra Pradesh through secure and economic operation of the State grid in accordance with the Grid Standards as per the Indian Grid Code.
